Shadow Day is an event where we bring our Central Valley students to UCLA and give them the opportunity to experience “a day in the life of a UCLA student.” This is a two day event at the end of each spring quarter. Friday is spent on the UCLA campus and in the nearby community of Westwood. In the morning, students are matched with current UCLA students based on educational interests and CVP students “shadow” the UCLA volunteers by going to class with them and accompanying them in their routine activities. In the afternoon and evening, students get a chance to explore the campus, and we take students out to the city of Los Angeles and choose an activity to engage in, such as visiting a beach, museum, or other L.A. landmark, before returning home.
Volunteers: We will need UCLA students to assist us throughout our Shadow Day event by chaperoning.
Hosts/Swipes: We will also need swipes for lunch.
Shadowers: We will need UCLA students who are interested in being shadowed by a CVP high school student on a Friday morning. Must stay on campus. Pick up and drop off at Bruin Bear.
Sign-ups to be a Volunteer/Shadower/Swipes will begin during spring quarter.
Drivers: We will need UCLA Students who are Driver Safety Certified and are willing to serve as drivers. If interested please contact [email protected] and more information will be provided.
